Tesla is seeking a Software Engineer to join their Infotainment Software Platforms team, focusing on speech and language models implementation. This role combines embedded systems expertise with AI/ML applications, working on customer-facing features for Tesla's vehicles. You'll be responsible for developing and optimizing speech recognition and voice interaction systems, working with both open and closed source models. The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $133,440 to $355,920 annually, plus comprehensive benefits. Responsibilities For Software Engineer, Speech & Language Models
- Write, debug, and maintain robust C/C++ software for Infotainment and backend systems
- Integrate language models on embedded hardware and backend systems
- Develop and iterate on new features through simulation, validation, and fleet data analysis
- Evaluate and train new models for use in production
- Provide performance data and feedback to Hardware Design and Manufacturing teams
Requirements For Software Engineer, Speech & Language Models
- Practical experience programming in C/C++ software, including modern C/C++ (C++14/17/20), multithreading, and Python
- Experience with embedded systems software design concepts
- Familiarity with Machine Learning, Speech Models, Language Models and related software concepts
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Proficiency in developing software on a Linux host
- Experience with Cuda/OpenCL (preferred)
