Description For Software Validation Engineer, High Voltage Systems

Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Software Validation Engineer to join their Vehicle Software organization's Systems Validation Team. This role focuses on validating high voltage systems, including battery management, AC and DC charging, and HV power conversion. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of electric vehicle technology.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring Tesla's products meet high standards for safety and customer experience before release. You'll work closely with System Architects, Hardware Designers, and Software Developers to maintain expert knowledge of high voltage and charging systems. The role involves developing and executing comprehensive test plans, building automated test tools, and investigating field issues through data analysis.

This position offers a competitive salary range of $108,000 - $216,000 annually, plus additional cash and stock awards. Responsibilities For Software Validation Engineer, High Voltage Systems

  • Work with System Architects, Hardware Designers and Software Developers to maintain expert understanding of high voltage and charging systems
  • Develop and execute comprehensive system and sub-system level test specifications and test plans
  • Invent methods and build tools to execute tests and evaluate results
  • Develop prototype test setups to integrate new subsystems
  • Investigate field issues through data analysis and issue reproduction
  • Debug issues and propose robust solutions
  • Improve safety, performance and customer satisfaction with Tesla products

Requirements For Software Validation Engineer, High Voltage Systems

  • Degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical or Systems Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Hands-on technical experience debugging complex systems
  • Experience with Python or other scripting languages
  • Experience with C and/or C++ for embedded systems
  • Experience with EV battery management, charging systems and power electronics
  • Experience with CAN and Vector tools
  • Experience analyzing and parsing data
  • Minimum 2 years' experience utilizing the essential skills
