Sr. Cell Engineer, Development & Prototyping

Tesla is seeking a Sr. Cell Engineer for Development & Prototyping to join their team. This role is crucial in the development of Tesla's battery cell technology, which is fundamental to all Tesla products. The position involves leading interdisciplinary team efforts, innovating cell prototyping processes, and accelerating the development of Tesla's cell technology.

Key responsibilities include:

• Owning and managing one or more cell manufacturing processes
• Leading a team of process Engineers and Technicians
• Improving process capabilities through experiments and data analysis
• Establishing standardized baseline process conditions
• Identifying and quantifying process risks and trends
• Developing and optimizing processes for new designs and materials
• Collaborating with the equipment development team

The ideal candidate will have:

• A degree in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in lithium-ion battery design, development, prototyping, or manufacturing
• Extensive knowledge of Li-ion battery chemistry and manufacturing processes
• Familiarity with data analysis tools and programming languages
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
