Sr. Electrical Test Engineer, Inverter, Semi

Tesla is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Test Engineer to join their Semi-Truck Drive Inverter Reliability Test Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with significant experience in inverter design and testing. This role focuses on ensuring the reliability and performance of drive inverters for cutting-edge semi-truck technology.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing, executing, and analyzing reliability tests for drive inverters
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate potential reliability issues
• Utilizing electronic design software to simulate and troubleshoot inverter circuits
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians
• Preparing and presenting detailed reports on test findings and recommendations

Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in inverter design and testing
• Strong knowledge of power electronics and semiconductor components, particularly MOSFETs and IGBTs
• Proven experience in the design and testing of inverter circuits
• Proficiency in using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, curve tracers, DMMs, hipot testers, and source meters
• Familiarity with electronic design software such as Altium, LTspice, etc.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Experience in the automotive or heavy vehicle industry with electric drive systems
• Familiarity with reliability testing methodologies and standards
