Description For Sr. EMC Design Engineer, Power Electronics

Tesla is seeking a Senior EMC Design Engineer to join their Power Electronics team, focusing on next-generation power converters for various cutting-edge applications. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on revolutionary products like vehicle on-board chargers, PV inverters, Powerwall, Supercharger, and Megapack.

The position requires a strong background in electrical engineering with specific expertise in EMC design and testing. Responsibilities For Sr. EMC Design Engineer, Power Electronics

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout product development cycle
  • Design EMI filters and provide direction for schematic and circuit board layout
  • Debug issues and implement fixes during EMC testing
  • Ensure EMC compliance at the product level
  • Work on power converters for vehicle on-board chargers, PV inverters, Powerwall, Supercharger, and Megapack

Requirements For Sr. EMC Design Engineer, Power Electronics

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Fundamental knowledge of power electronics topologies
  • Familiarity with schematic capture and circuit simulation tools
  • 4+ years hands-on experience with EMI filter designs
  • Strong understanding of conducted and radiated noise sources
  • Experience with common mode and differential mode chokes
  • Experience in PCB layout supervision
  • Knowledge of EMC test standards
  • Experience with test methods and measuring equipment
  • Understanding of UL and CE electrical safety requirements
