Tesla is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer specialized in Coatings for their Semi Manufacturing Factory in Sparks, Nevada. This role is crucial for the development and deployment of manufacturing equipment and processes within Tesla's powertrain and energy product business segment. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on challenging projects related to Tesla's Semi electric vehicles, focusing on improving cost and margins.

The role involves working in a fast-paced environment with a highly motivated team, collaborating closely with Production Engineering, Operations, Semi Design Engineering, Quality, Safety, and various integrators. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the design, procurement, installation, and ramp-up of medium to large-scale manufacturing systems.

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration across the organization
  • Lead product design for manufacturability (DFM) and sustainability
  • Document product requirements for process and equipment specification
  • Develop advanced processing technologies and equipment
  • Lead process qualification and statistical analysis
  • Manage large-scale projects for new programs
  • Design detailed production lines based on process requirements

Requirements For Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, Coatings, Semi

  • 8+ years experience in technology-based industry with automated finishing/coating methods
  • Experience with automotive paint and powder coating processes
  • Experience with high-volume process equipment & automation systems
  • Experience in Design of Experiments (DOE)
  • Proficient in Catia, SolidWorks, Inventor, and/or AutoCAD & automation software
  • Experience in PFMEAs, new product introduction, and manufacturing operations
  • Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent experience
