Responsibilities For Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer, Prototype Structural, New Programs

  • Full-stack ownership of parts or systems of low volume prototypes including design, documentation, assembly, and validation
  • Work closely with in-house fabricators and technicians to create efficient designs
  • Collaborate with designers and engineers to develop novel solutions to complex challenges
  • Document and handoff development to vehicle engineering teams for productionization

Requirements For Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer, Prototype Structural, New Programs

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a product development environment
  • Broad knowledge of prototyping methods for metals, polymers, and composites
  • Multiphysics simulation experience
  • Experience with surface design, parametric optimization, and advanced CAD functionality
  • Hands-on experience in designing and building electro-mechanical systems
  • Detail-oriented personality with effective documentation and reporting
  • Excellent communicator, resourceful, and mindful of time management
