Responsibilities For Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer, Prototype Structural, New Programs
- Full-stack ownership of parts or systems of low volume prototypes including design, documentation, assembly, and validation
- Work closely with in-house fabricators and technicians to create efficient designs
- Collaborate with designers and engineers to develop novel solutions to complex challenges
- Document and handoff development to vehicle engineering teams for productionization
Requirements For Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer, Prototype Structural, New Programs
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a product development environment
- Broad knowledge of prototyping methods for metals, polymers, and composites
- Multiphysics simulation experience
- Experience with surface design, parametric optimization, and advanced CAD functionality
- Hands-on experience in designing and building electro-mechanical systems
- Detail-oriented personality with effective documentation and reporting
- Excellent communicator, resourceful, and mindful of time management
