Responsibilities For Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer, Structures, Drive Systems, Semi
- Lead and contribute to the design and development of semi-truck and heavy-duty transmission designs and architectures
- Work with vehicle and production line integration teams for successful assembly and service
- Collaborate with reliability teams to diagnose and improve designs
- Develop designs focusing on volume assembly
- Own component design from concept through sourcing and production
- Work with analysis and test team for specs and fixture design
- Drive project team for on-time delivery
Requirements For Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer, Structures, Drive Systems, Semi
- Heavy duty/Class 8 transmission design experience with focus on structural castings
- System level design ownership
- 3D experience or Catia V5 experience
- Casting design for volume production
- Detail 3D and 2D release of Iron and aluminum casting, forgings, and molded parts
- Component and sub-system level structural CAE experience
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong understanding of GD&T
- Great time management and self-motivation
