Your responsibilities will span across crucial areas of vehicle development, from building finite element models for revolutionary vehicle architectures to performing sophisticated analyses of vehicle acoustics and vibration. You'll work on full vehicle NVH analysis, drive unit noise reduction, and thermal system NVH analysis, directly contributing to Tesla's mission of creating world-class electric vehicles.

The ideal candidate brings at least 3 years of experience in Finite Element Analysis related to NVH, along with expert-level skills in OptiStruct or similar FEM codes. Your strong background in acoustic and vibration principles, combined with experience in HyperWorks or ANSA, will be essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities For Sr. NVH CAE Engineer

  • Building FE models for analysis and optimization of revolutionary vehicle architectures
  • Performing static/torsional stiffness, modal, point mobility, vibration/acoustic transfer function analyses
  • Performing full vehicle NVH analysis (in-cabin vibration and acoustic predictions)
  • Performing CAE transfer path analysis to identify major noise path and make NVH improvements
  • Performing drive unit airborne and structure-borne noise analyses
  • Performing thermal system NVH analysis
  • Supporting engineering teams with design direction based on analyses
  • Performing analysis for feasibility for manufacturing, assembly and service processes
  • Providing input in component specification, DFMEA, and technical design documents

Requirements For Sr. NVH CAE Engineer

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years experience using Finite Element Analysis related to NVH
  • Expert applied skill in OptiStruct (NASTRAN) or other FEM codes for NVH CAE
  • Strong experience with HyperWorks (HyperMesh and HyperView) or ANSA
  • Excellent understanding of acoustic and vibration principles
  • Strong experience with vehicle NVH CAE
  • Strong communication skills, independent worker, excellent team player
