Responsibilities For Sr. Power Electronics Engineer, Magnetics

  • Design and development of magnetic components for power converters for vehicle and energy storage applications
  • Work closely with power electronics and mechanical design engineers to develop low cost high efficiency magnetics components
  • Start to finish ownership of magnetic components – from specification to design, prototype, testing and manufacturing

Requirements For Sr. Power Electronics Engineer, Magnetics

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 4 or more years of experience with magnetic component designs for high frequency power electronic converters
  • Solid understanding of electro-magnetic theory, properties of magnetic materials and winding techniques
  • Good understanding of thermal, mechanical and packaging challenges associated with design of magnetics
  • Experience with core selection, winding design, conductor selection, loss modeling and loss characterization
  • Familiarity with power converter and electro-magnetic circuit simulation tools (Maxwell, Ansys etc.)
  • Knowledge of UL and CE electrical safety requirements relevant to the design of magnetic components
