Responsibilities For Sr. Power Electronics Engineer, Magnetics
- Design and development of magnetic components for power converters for vehicle and energy storage applications
- Work closely with power electronics and mechanical design engineers to develop low cost high efficiency magnetics components
- Start to finish ownership of magnetic components – from specification to design, prototype, testing and manufacturing
Requirements For Sr. Power Electronics Engineer, Magnetics
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 4 or more years of experience with magnetic component designs for high frequency power electronic converters
- Solid understanding of electro-magnetic theory, properties of magnetic materials and winding techniques
- Good understanding of thermal, mechanical and packaging challenges associated with design of magnetics
- Experience with core selection, winding design, conductor selection, loss modeling and loss characterization
- Familiarity with power converter and electro-magnetic circuit simulation tools (Maxwell, Ansys etc.)
- Knowledge of UL and CE electrical safety requirements relevant to the design of magnetic components
