Tesla's Factory Software department is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to enhance their in-house manufacturing and supply chain computer vision platform. The role involves working with camera systems and backend infrastructure across global Gigafactories in California, Nevada, Germany, Texas, and New York. The position focuses on unifying vision systems across multiple factories to improve vehicle quality and material flow.
As a Backend Software Engineer, you'll play a crucial technical ownership role, collaborating with multiple teams to reimagine Tesla's global Gigafactory manufacturing network. The role requires strong technical expertise in backend development, particularly with Golang and Python, along with experience in database management and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities For Sr Software Engineer, Backend Vision Systems, Factory Software
- Design, identify, and mitigate risks associated with feature implementations
- Deliver backend applications that are well-tested, easy to maintain, and capable of handling expected traffic requirements
- Collaborate with multiple teams, including senior management, infrastructure teams, and other relevant parties
- Document processes for future reference by integration engineers
- Provide on-call support and participate in on-call rotation
- Occasionally travel to regional sites for customer interaction and on-site troubleshooting
Requirements For Sr Software Engineer, Backend Vision Systems, Factory Software
- Proficiency in backend programming languages (Golang and Python highly preferred)
- Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
- Proficiency with web development, Splunk logs, Swagger, and REST APIs
- Experience with DevOps tooling such as Kubernetes, AWS or Azure
- Proven record of delivering new projects from start to finish
- Ability to communicate, coordinate, and organize information across teams
