Description For Sr. Software System Integration Engineer, Test Systems Engineering

Tesla's Test Systems Engineering Team is seeking a Senior Software System Integration Engineer to join their dynamic hardware testing group. This role sits at the intersection of Tesla's core technologies, working across both Vehicle and Energy programs. The position offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, developing and implementing test solutions for motor, powertrain, and all-wheel drive dynamometers.

The role demands expertise in both hardware and software integration, with a focus on developing and executing test cases, maintaining Hardware in the Loop (HIL) testers, and validating new features for the Dyno Platform. You'll be working with high-voltage power electronic systems, electric motors, and sophisticated test equipment, while developing solutions in Python and C/C++.

As a senior engineer, you'll lead software/system integration efforts across all test platforms and serve as a technical consultant for cross-functional teams. The position offers exposure to Tesla's innovative technologies and the chance to contribute to the development of sustainable transportation solutions.

The compensation package is highly competitive, ranging from $111,200 to $246,720 annually, plus cash and stock awards. Responsibilities For Sr. Software System Integration Engineer, Test Systems Engineering

  • Research, develop, create, and execute feature requests or effective solutions end-to-end (hardware/software)
  • Identify, escalate, and resolve issues with hardware and software/firmware during system bring-up, performance, and safety tests
  • Develop and validate Python code and embedded firmware in C, C++
  • Lead software/system integration efforts for all test platforms
  • Lead development/integration efforts for in-house and off-the-shelf bi-directional power supplies
  • Serve as a technical consultant for feature requests from cross-functional teams
  • Contribute to internal software tool repositories

Requirements For Sr. Software System Integration Engineer, Test Systems Engineering

  • Degree in Electrical, Computer or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of high voltage power electronic systems, electric motors, and low voltage systems
  • Strong knowledge of test automation and data analysis in Python
  • Familiarity with embedded systems/firmware in C/C++
  • Motivation to work hands-on in solving problems efficiently to meet tight deadlines
  • Experience with laboratory test equipment, including sensors, oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and other instrumentation
  • Familiarity with communication interfaces such as CAN/CAN FD, LIN, Modbus, SCPI, Automotive Ethernet, EtherCAT
