Tesla's Battery Electronics team is seeking an experienced Sr. Staff Electrical Design Engineer to lead the design of high-voltage battery management PCBAs for their newest vehicles and energy storage solutions. This role involves end-to-end PCBA design, from concept development to mass production, collaborating with various teams to optimize designs for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, prototyping, building, and testing high-voltage battery management electronics
- Developing automated design validation setups and software
- Launching designs to mass production
- Collaborating with top automotive IC manufacturers for next-generation BMS technologies
The ideal candidate should have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- At least 5 years of hands-on industry experience in analog and digital circuit design
- Strong analytical, circuit analysis, and simulation skills
- Expertise in failure analysis and PCBA troubleshooting
- Solid knowledge of Python for test automation and data analysis
- Experience in battery management systems, power electronics, microcontrollers, and high-speed digital interfaces
- Familiarity with RF circuits, antennas, and wireless communication protocols
- Proficiency in Altium Designer, LTSpice, and mechanical CAD tools
