Responsibilities For Sr. Test Engineer, Thermal Event, Semi

  • Create detailed test plans based on communication with design teams and program managers
  • Own test planning activities including instrumentation and charging
  • Coordinate with technicians in battery pack build, instrumentation, test teams
  • Conduct tests safely and according to design intent/failure mode
  • Analyze thermal and electrical data, video footage and present test results
  • Identify and execute ideas to improve battery thermal testing efficiency
  • Develop coupon studies for rapid subsystem testing
  • Collaborate with modeling team on results and mechanisms
  • Interpret regulations and tailor tests setup accordingly

Requirements For Sr. Test Engineer, Thermal Event, Semi

Python
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Focus areas in heat transfer, combustion, or materials
  • 2-10 years of experience in design validation/compliance/battery testing
  • Must be hands-on (physical assembly, electrical wiring/troubleshooting)
  • Experience with data analysis tools - Matlab or Python preferred
  • Experience with CAD (CATIA a bonus)
  • Willing to travel up to 20% to test sites
