  • Develop and calibrate cell degradation models for different cell chemistries
  • Develop cell degradation mechanisms through analysis of lab cycling and storage data
  • Guide development of higher fidelity degradation models for EV and Energy Storage products
  • Interface with cross functional teams for degradation simulations and forecasts
  • Advance cell degradation modeling capability at Tesla
  • Lead a small team of Modeling Engineers

Requirements For Staff Cell Lifetime Modeling Engineer

Python
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent experience
  • Strong background in numerical methods, optimization and numerical solutions of ODEs and PDEs
  • 5+ years experience in developing empirical or physics-based models of dynamic systems
  • 5+ years programming and numerical modeling experience in MATLAB or Python
  • Strong communication and cross-functional interaction skills
  • Experience working with lithium-ion batteries is preferred
  • Technical leadership experience is strongly desired
