Tesla's Self-Driving Hardware team is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to join their innovative AI Inference Hardware division. This role is crucial in designing computing hardware that powers Tesla's autonomous vehicles and humanoid robots, as well as data center infrastructure. Responsibilities For Staff Electrical Engineer, AI Inference Hardware

  • Hardware ownership: Specification, architecture, design, simulation, schematics, layout supervision, prototype, validation
  • Design of electrical architecture, electronic circuits, processor selection and integration, system timing and bus loading
  • Collaborate with PCB layout, firmware, reliability, program management, mechanical, and EMC teams
  • Thoroughly document design requirements, calculations, power budgets
  • Come up with validation plan and verify all the features and interfaces across corners
  • Design for manufacturing, design for test and design for EMC

Requirements For Staff Electrical Engineer, AI Inference Hardware

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of relevant circuit board design experience
  • Demonstrated depth in end-to-end PCBA design
  • Strong in high speed board design(>5Gbps) and knowledge of interfaces (DDR, PCIe, MIPI, Ethernet, etc)
  • Experience in high performance processor, memory, storage, network IO based for complex mother board design
  • Good understanding of analog and power circuits
  • Proficiency with EE tools
  • Experience shipping high-volume electronics products
