Responsibilities For Staff Linux Systems Engineer, Infrastructure Engineering
- Design and develop services for consumer of various Linux-based compute infrastructure services
- Develop and maintain system configurations, base images, and deployment strategies
- Implement and integrate adjacent services such as monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery
- Create and enforce policies and standards related to Linux system administration, security, and compliance
- Lead and manage projects related to Linux infrastructure, including upgrades, migrations, and new deployments
- Oversee the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of Linux systems and services
- Implement and enforce security standards and practices
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, policies, and procedures
- Work closely with engineering, operations, and security teams
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support
Requirements For Staff Linux Systems Engineer, Infrastructure Engineering
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent experience
- Experience in Linux distributions such as RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar
- Experience in Linux system administration, with focus on architecture, design, and scalability
- Expertise in base image creation, system configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Cloud init)
- Expertise in containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Deep understanding of security standards, access methods, and compliance requirements
- Experience in project management and leading cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
