Tesla is seeking a Staff Linux Systems Engineer to join their Infrastructure Engineering team. Responsibilities For Staff Linux Systems Engineer, Infrastructure Engineering

  • Design and develop services for consumer of various Linux-based compute infrastructure services
  • Develop and maintain system configurations, base images, and deployment strategies
  • Implement and integrate adjacent services such as monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery
  • Create and enforce policies and standards related to Linux system administration, security, and compliance
  • Lead and manage projects related to Linux infrastructure, including upgrades, migrations, and new deployments
  • Oversee the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of Linux systems and services
  • Implement and enforce security standards and practices
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, policies, and procedures
  • Work closely with engineering, operations, and security teams
  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support

Requirements For Staff Linux Systems Engineer, Infrastructure Engineering

Linux
Kubernetes
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience in Linux distributions such as RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar
  • Experience in Linux system administration, with focus on architecture, design, and scalability
  • Expertise in base image creation, system configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Cloud init)
  • Expertise in containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Deep understanding of security standards, access methods, and compliance requirements
  • Experience in project management and leading cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
