As a Staff Product Manager for Megapack Controls & SCADA at Tesla, you will be responsible for the Megapack's Controls & SCADA roadmap and the global commercialization of those offerings. You'll be part of the Industrial Product team, supporting Utility, Commercial & Industrial, and Microgrids segments. This role requires both technical and commercial skills, with a focus on software product management or development experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Defining product vision and strategy for SCADA and software controls
- Conducting market research and gathering customer feedback
- Prioritizing and defining features on the roadmap
- Commercializing offerings into standardized, scalable solutions
- Developing technical content for internal and external use
- Supporting global sales teams and managing controls compliance workstreams
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 5-7+ years of experience in software product management or similar
- Experience with controls solutions for energy storage, hybrid power plants, or microgrids (highly desired)
- Knowledge of SCADA systems
- Understanding of Utilities, IPPs, and large-scale energy developers' needs

Responsibilities For Staff Product Manager, Megapack Controls & SCADA
- Define product vision and strategy for SCADA and software controls
- Conduct discovery: market research, competitive intelligence, and customer feedback
- Prioritize and define features on the roadmap
- Define and commercialize offerings into standardized solutions that can scale
- Develop and drive technical content for internal and external parties
- Act as primary stakeholder for education of critical product features
- Optimize the overall Megapack offering through techno-economic modeling
- Support Sales teams around the world
- Manage controls compliance workstreams required to open new markets
Requirements For Staff Product Manager, Megapack Controls & SCADA
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 5-7+ years of experience in software product management or similar
- Experience with controls solutions for energy storage, hybrid power plants or microgrids (highly desired)
- Experience with SCADA
- Knowledge of Utilities, IPPs, and large-scale energy developers and their needs for operating assets on the grid
