Tesla is seeking a Test Engineer for their Closures & Exteriors team focused on the Semi program. Responsibilities For Test Engineer, Closures & Exteriors, Semi
- Conduct hands-on component and system level R&D: characterization, reliability, and durability testing
- Work directly with reliability and design engineers to support Design Validation Plan (DVP)
- Development, and lead test planning activities
- Develop test fixtures using CAD
- Conduct detailed inspections to identify and root cause failures
- Write necessary scripts to automate testing
- Conduct data acquisition and instrumentation of sensors
- Investigate test failures and make detailed test reports
- Maintain a clean and organized work space
- Travel up to 10% between Tesla Sites Reno/Fremont/Palo Alto
Requirements For Test Engineer, Closures & Exteriors, Semi
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Strong engineering fundamentals
- Test experience from school projects, internships, or other relevant experience
- Hands-on experience with debugging and troubleshooting technical problems
- Experience with sensors and data acquisition systems
- Experience with CAD and fixture design
- Experience with programming (Python preferred), LabVIEW and CAN communication for test automation
