Responsibilities For Test Engineer, Closures & Exteriors, Semi

  • Conduct hands-on component and system level R&D: characterization, reliability, and durability testing
  • Work directly with reliability and design engineers to support Design Validation Plan (DVP)
  • Development, and lead test planning activities
  • Develop test fixtures using CAD
  • Conduct detailed inspections to identify and root cause failures
  • Write necessary scripts to automate testing
  • Conduct data acquisition and instrumentation of sensors
  • Investigate test failures and make detailed test reports
  • Maintain a clean and organized work space
  • Travel up to 10% between Tesla Sites Reno/Fremont/Palo Alto

Requirements For Test Engineer, Closures & Exteriors, Semi

Python
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Strong engineering fundamentals
  • Test experience from school projects, internships, or other relevant experience
  • Hands-on experience with debugging and troubleshooting technical problems
  • Experience with sensors and data acquisition systems
  • Experience with CAD and fixture design
  • Experience with programming (Python preferred), LabVIEW and CAN communication for test automation
