Description For Cybersecurity Engineer

testRigor is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to strengthen their security posture and ensure compliance with industry frameworks including FedRAMP, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and HIPAA. This role focuses on implementing and managing technical security controls, threat monitoring, incident response, and cloud security. The position offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge security technologies while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance cloud security and governance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cybersecurity, strong technical skills, and a proven track record of developing and executing security strategies. This role reports directly to the Compliance Officer and offers the flexibility of remote work with competitive compensation.

Responsibilities For Cybersecurity Engineer

  • Implement and manage IAM policies, enforce MFA, and ensure proper RBAC
  • Configure, deploy, and monitor security solutions (EDR, XDR, SIEM)
  • Develop and maintain incident response playbooks
  • Implement Continuous Monitoring strategies
  • Strengthen container security
  • Perform security assessments and remediate vulnerabilities
  • Strengthen security configurations and enforce cloud security best practices
  • Work with DevOps and engineering teams to enforce secure-by-design principles
  • Deploy and manage Endpoint Detection & Response solutions
  • Integrate and analyze threat intelligence feeds
  • Implement secure communication protocols and DLP policies
  • Provide technical evidence for audits and track compliance

Requirements For Cybersecurity Engineer

Kubernetes
  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, cloud security, or compliance-driven security roles
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR/XDR, IAM, and security automation tools
  • Proficiency in cloud security (AWS, Azure) and infrastructure hardening
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and security best practices
  • In-depth knowledge of network security, encryption standards, and incident response
  • Proven incident response and forensic investigation experience
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Azure – Specialty (plus)
  • Strategic thinking and execution of cybersecurity strategies
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
