Description For Engineer

The Hope Group, a SunSource Company, is seeking an experienced Engineer to join their team in Northborough, MA. As New England's leading provider of fluid power and motion control solutions, they offer a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge hydraulic and control systems. The role combines hands-on engineering with project management, requiring expertise in both technical design and team leadership.

The position involves creating and modifying products, developing complex systems, and providing technical leadership across the organization. You'll be responsible for everything from initial calculations and schematics to final implementation and customer support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, particularly in hydraulics and control systems.

Responsibilities For Engineer

  • Plan and perform engineering duties for major projects
  • Create new products or modify existing products
  • Develop calculations, bills of materials, drawings and test plans
  • Develop schematics for hydraulic and electrical systems
  • Provide technical guidance and assistance to staff
  • Perform field service supervision and start-up assistance
  • Monitor and maintain project budgets
  • Coordinate with sub-contractors
  • Provide on-site technical support
  • Develop PLC based control logic programming (preferred)

Requirements For Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Demonstrated experience working in a manufacturing environment (preferably with hydraulics)
  • Ability to develop hydraulic schematics, select material and guide technicians in fabricating hydraulic systems
  • Understanding of relay logic industrial control panel design
  • Proven attention to detail, excellent communicator and customer service oriented
