The Tsui Group is seeking an experienced Engineer III to join their aviation team in Los Angeles County, focusing on airport infrastructure and utility systems management. This senior-level position requires a professional with extensive experience in construction management, particularly in coordinating electrical and communications networks within airport environments.

The role demands a thorough understanding of FAA Standards and requirements, with the successful candidate managing complex utility coordination and construction activities. You'll be responsible for reviewing and processing critical documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and change directives, while ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality control requirements.

Key responsibilities include coordinating with multiple stakeholders such as LAWA staff, FAA, Airfield Operations, and various utility companies. You'll oversee utility-related construction activities, conduct field inspections, and ensure proper systems integration. The position requires strong technical expertise combined with excellent communication skills to effectively manage project progress and stakeholder relationships.

The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of experience, preferably in airport projects, along with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field. A California Professional Engineer's license is preferred, and experience with project management tools like Prolog and Primavera is highly desired.

Responsibilities For Engineer III - Airports

  • Understand all contract requirements for utilities work coordination
  • Review and process contractor's project plans and submittals
  • Coordinate field activities with LAWA staff, FAA, and other stakeholders
  • Monitor deficiencies and non-conformances
  • Review project baseline and weekly progress schedules
  • Coordinate systems integration requirements
  • Review and inspect work performed by contractors
  • Maintain document and drawing logs
  • Coordinate close out process including as-built drawings

Requirements For Engineer III - Airports

  • 10+ years experience, preferably on airport projects
  • Thorough knowledge of FAA Standards and requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • State of California Professional Engineer's license (preferred)
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Prolog and Primavera experience (highly desirable)
  • Reliable transportation to/from airport worksite
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with utility systems and construction management
