Description For Senior Cost Engineer

The Tsui Group is seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Cost Engineer to join their aviation team in Los Angeles County. The role involves developing and maintaining cost data for new construction and renovation work for Terminal Development & Improvement Program projects. These projects may include Airline Terminal Improvement, Airport Service Improvement, Terminal Development, and Asset Renewal.

The ideal candidate will have proven cost engineering experience with complex, multi-phase, multi-million-dollar construction and/or renovation projects. Key responsibilities include preparing detailed computer-generated cost reports, providing analysis and review of cost/budget expenditure, maintaining cost control reports, and liaising with Data Processing for support.

Essential duties include managing project costs, monitoring project budgets for multi-billion-dollar Capital Improvement Programs at airports, reviewing sub-contractor invoices, preparing job costing reports, performing cost-to-complete analysis, attending project meetings, developing creative reporting tools, and working with various software systems like Prolog.

The position requires 10+ years of cost engineering experience, preferably in aviation projects, a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, and certifications such as CCE, CCP, PMP, or PE. Proficiency in large-scale cost reporting systems (preferably Prolog) and Microsoft Office Suite is essential.

Responsibilities For Senior Cost Engineer

  • Manage project costs for multi-billion-dollar Capital Improvement Programs
  • Develop and maintain cost data for construction and renovation projects
  • Prepare detailed computer-generated cost reports, charts, and diagrams
  • Analyze and review cost/budget expenditure
  • Maintain cost control reports
  • Review and analyze sub-contractor invoices
  • Perform cost-to-complete analysis
  • Attend project meetings to provide financial information
  • Develop creative reporting tools for complex project sequencing
  • Review task orders for contractors and sub-consultants
  • Analyze bid award values and change orders against budgets
  • Update contract commitments and reconcile actual expenditures in Prolog
  • Coordinate with airport Governance Body for budget changes
  • Perform project closeout to ensure complete data for reporting

Requirements For Senior Cost Engineer

  • 10+ years of cost engineering experience in construction projects, preferably aviation
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Cost engineer certification (CCE, CCP)
  • PMP, PE, or other relevant Professional Licensure or Certification
  • Proficiency with large-scale cost reporting systems (Prolog preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam
  • Reliable transportation to/from airport worksite
