The Tsui Group is seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Cost Engineer to join their aviation team in Los Angeles County. The role involves developing and maintaining cost data for new construction and renovation work for Terminal Development & Improvement Program projects. These projects may include Airline Terminal Improvement, Airport Service Improvement, Terminal Development, and Asset Renewal.
The ideal candidate will have proven cost engineering experience with complex, multi-phase, multi-million-dollar construction and/or renovation projects. Key responsibilities include preparing detailed computer-generated cost reports, providing analysis and review of cost/budget expenditure, maintaining cost control reports, and liaising with Data Processing for support.
Essential duties include managing project costs, monitoring project budgets for multi-billion-dollar Capital Improvement Programs at airports, reviewing sub-contractor invoices, preparing job costing reports, performing cost-to-complete analysis, attending project meetings, developing creative reporting tools, and working with various software systems like Prolog.
The role requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field, along with relevant certifications such as CCE, CCP, PMP, or PE. The ideal candidate will have 10 years or more of cost engineering experience, preferably in aviation projects, and experience managing a team of cost engineers.
This position offers a competitive salary range of $144,000-$149,000 and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, paid time off, and a 401k plan with employer contribution.
Responsibilities For Senior Cost Engineer
- Manage project costs for multi-billion-dollar Capital Improvement Programs
- Develop and maintain cost data for construction and renovation projects
- Prepare detailed computer-generated cost reports and analysis
- Monitor project budgets and review sub-contractor invoices
- Perform cost-to-complete analysis and forecast project costs
- Attend project meetings and provide financial information
- Develop creative reporting tools for complex project sequencing
- Coordinate with airport Governance Body for budget approvals
- Manage Prolog system for contract commitments and expenditures
- Perform project closeout and prepare documentation for budget transfers
Requirements For Senior Cost Engineer
- 10+ years of cost engineering experience in construction projects, preferably aviation
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Cost engineer certification (CCE, CCP)
- Proficiency with large-scale cost reporting systems, preferably Prolog
- Experience with Design-Build and Construction Management at Risk delivery methods
- Ability to manage a team of cost engineers
- Strong communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam
