Description For Systems Engineer

As a Systems Engineer, you will collaborate closely with system architects, engineers, and government stakeholders to tackle intricate challenges of systems engineering critical to national security and defense.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing, designing, integrating, and modeling complex systems-of-systems
  • Using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and tools like Cameo, MATLAB, Simulink, and AFSIM
  • Developing resilient systems architectures that integrate tactical networks, high-performance computing, command & control systems, data analytics, and unmanned autonomous systems
  • Collaborating with mission stakeholders to provide insights, evaluate alternative system architectures, and support key decision-making processes
  • Gathering and analyzing requirements for integrated systems
  • Evaluating and comparing alternative system architectures
  • Identifying and mitigating risks within system architectures
  • Supporting requirements management, interface management, and architecture change management processes

You'll work at the forefront of technology to bolster the capabilities and resilience of national security systems, contributing to critical defense and national security missions. This role offers the opportunity to work on systems that span from tactical operations to the cloud, applying MBSE principles to solve complex challenges in national security.

Responsibilities For Systems Engineer

  • Collaborate with system architects, engineers, and government customers to gather and analyze requirements for integrated systems
  • Use MBSE methodologies and tools to design, simulate, and validate complex system architectures
  • Evaluate and compare alternative system architectures using qualitative and quantitative methodologies
  • Identify and articulate major uncertainties within system architectures and devise mitigation strategies
  • Support requirements management, interface management, and architecture change management processes
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to engineer effective solutions
  • Communicate technical recommendations and system analyses clearly to customer and government partners
  • Travel up to 20% for system demonstrations and customer engagements

Requirements For Systems Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in systems engineering with a focus on MBSE, system integration, or system-of-systems architecture
  • Experience with systems modeling tools such as SysML, UML, Cameo Systems Modeler, or MagicDraw
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and practices
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team and engage with customers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to receive a TS Clearance
  • Active TS Clearance or active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS is preferred
