theScore, a subsidiary of PENN Entertainment, is seeking a Staff DC/Networking Engineer to join their Network/Field Engineering team. This role involves working in a hybrid deployment model while maintaining regulatory compliance across the US and Canada. Key responsibilities include planning and implementing new state launches with a hybrid-cloud approach, designing networking architectures, mentoring team members, and providing technical direction on various operational issues. The ideal candidate should have strong hardware-oriented networking leadership skills, experience in data center management, and proficiency in technologies like MPLS, bare-metal servers, Ubuntu/Linux, TCP/IP, BGP, NAT, and cloud interconnects. Responsibilities For Staff DC/Networking Engineer

  • Plan, prepare, and implement new state launches using a hybrid-cloud approach
  • Create BOMs for hardware procurement based on business requirements
  • Design and validate performant networking/compute architectures
  • Mentor and uplift Field/Network Engineering team members
  • Provide technical direction on operational issues and networking challenges
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware implementation issues
  • Install products or OS systems at data centers or office sites
  • Design, architect, automate, and implement firewalls and network topology
  • Participate in long-running project planning
  • Provide on-site technical direction for critical rollouts and hardware deployments

Requirements For Staff DC/Networking Engineer

Linux
Kubernetes
  • Strong hardware-oriented networking leadership skills
  • Experience in data center management and networking
  • Proficiency in MPLS, bare-metal servers, Ubuntu/Linux, TCP/IP, BGP, NAT, OS and NIC tuning, Cloud interconnects, firewall config and rules, compute components
  • Experience with Containerization (Docker & Kubernetes preferred)
  • Automation experience with configuration management
  • Experience with Agile practices
  • Experience with GCP stack and/or on-premises networking/hardware triage
  • Ability to work independently and learn quickly
  • Tech-savvy and passionate about learning new technologies
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or similar experience
  • Comfortable with in-country traveling
