Description For Principal AI/ML Engineer, Security AI

Our partner is seeking a Principal AI/ML Engineer specializing in Security AI for their San Jose, CA location. This role involves leading the development and evolution of AI platforms and products within the Security AI team. The position is crucial for driving innovation and maintaining a competitive edge in the AI and machine learning space.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical and industry vision for AI and Data Science strategies.
  • Define and design AI-based solutions, evaluate technical feasibility, and estimate efforts and risks.
  • Develop prototypes and MVP architectures for innovative features and services that are consistent, maintainable, and scalable.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to define and achieve strategic objectives.
  • Mentor and guide a team of AI engineers and data scientists, promoting technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Stay updated on AI and ML developments and assess their impact on products and services.
  • Enforce standard processes in coding, testing, documentation, and maintainability.
  • Ensure ethical use of AI, focusing on fairness, privacy, security, and transparency.
  • Communicate complex AI concepts to non-technical audiences and provide thought leadership internally and at industry events.
  • Contribute to intellectual property through patents, publications, and presentations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 15 years of software engineering experience, including roles such as Director, CTO, Chief, or Principal Engineer in AI/ML/Deep Learning.
  • At least 7 years of experience with programming languages like Python, Java, or C++, and familiarity with AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience developing, training, and deploying AI models, including machine learning algorithms and deep learning architectures.
  • At least 5 years of experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and ML deployment strategies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Large Language Models, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Image Processing, and generative AI techniques.
  • Proven experience in developing AI-based products or systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience with DataOps/MLOps workflows, infrastructure, and tooling.
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices.
