Supplier Quality Engineer

Thorlabs is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join their team. This role is responsible for cross-functional program management, including qualifying new suppliers, resolving issues with the current supply base, developing existing suppliers to reduce cost and increase capacity, and auditing suppliers to ensure process conformance to Thorlabs' requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with Purchasing and Engineering to select and evaluate suppliers
• Performing supplier assessments and ensuring conformance to manufacturing plans
• Managing the supplier scorecard program to improve cost, quality, and delivery
• Driving corrective actions to address quality issues and improve supplier performance
• Supporting new product introduction planning and mitigating the risk of counterfeit parts

The ideal candidate will have:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Sourcing, Logistics, Quality, Engineering, or Manufacturing
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Supplier Quality Management
• Bachelor's degree in a science-related field
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database tools
• Six Sigma/Lean or ASQ CQA/CQE certification (preferred)
