Description For Software Engineer, Core Web Application Team

Timely is revolutionizing school scheduling through AI-powered optimization, founded with the mission to create the tool its founders wished they had while working in schools. The platform helps schools develop better schedules that enable their academic, budget, and staffing priorities while saving hundreds of hours of administrative time.

As a Software Engineer on the Core Web Application Team, you'll be at the forefront of developing and enhancing Timely's primary product. You'll work across the full stack, with a focus on React frontend and Python backend development, to create features that directly impact how schools manage their resources and time. The role combines technical expertise with real-world impact, as your work will help schools better allocate their resources and improve educational outcomes.

The position offers the flexibility of remote work, with a preference for candidates in the NYC or Boston areas. You'll join a mission-driven team that values continuous improvement, collaborative problem-solving, and direct customer engagement. The role requires someone who can thrive in a startup environment, taking ownership of projects while working closely with product managers and other engineers.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level engineer who wants to make a meaningful impact in education while working with modern technologies and best practices in software development. You'll be supported by comprehensive benefits and a culture that values work-life balance, as evidenced by the unlimited PTO and generous parental leave policies.
