TKDA, a 100% employee-owned engineering firm, is seeking a Professional Traffic Engineer with 5-10 years of experience to join their dynamic team in Minneapolis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape urban mobility and develop innovative solutions for transportation challenges. The position involves leading traffic-related design projects, conducting analyses, and collaborating with a skilled team of professionals.

The ideal candidate will work on complex transportation infrastructure systems for the Department of Transportation, local agencies, and design-build contractors. The role combines technical expertise with project management, requiring both engineering skills and strong communication abilities. The company is planning to relocate to a new HQ in Bloomington by April 2025, offering a flexible hybrid work arrangement with 3 days in office and 2 days working from home.

Responsibilities For Professional Engineer, Traffic

  • Lead traffic related design and plan development (roundabouts, traffic signals, construction staging, maintenance of traffic, signing, striping, and lighting)
  • Conduct analyses using simulation and modeling software
  • Create production of plans, specifications and cost estimates
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and technicians generating safe and efficient designs for complex transportation infrastructure systems

Requirements For Professional Engineer, Traffic

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • A minimum of 5 to 8 years of related experience
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Minnesota or ability to obtain within six months of employment
  • Experience or interest in projects related to design and/or plan development
  • Strong working knowledge and previous experience with CADD software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, etc.)
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills
