Description For Project Engineer - Municipal

TNP has an immediate opening for a Project Engineer to join a growing team in our Katy, TX office. This Project Engineer will be responsible for plan production and the design of a variety of public/private sector projects, including municipal roadway, stormwater/drainage, potable water, wastewater, and site development projects. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in the planning, design and construction of public works infrastructure, to collaborate with a diverse team in serving our clients, and to develop project management and leadership skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing research & completing technical design tasks, plan production and delivery of projects
  • Preparing construction documents for public and/or private public works infrastructure projects
  • Performing construction administration
  • Preparing proposals, reports, schedules, opinions of probable cost, construction specifications and contract documents
  • Establishing good communication and collaborative working relationships with team members & clients
  • Organizing and scheduling work to accomplish project goals within established budgets and schedules
  • Coordinating with technical experts, other engineering design teams and sub-consultants
  • Assisting Project Managers in the management of projects and clients
  • Directing the work of Civil Engineers & CAD Designers
  • Assisting in the technical training and development of young Civil Engineers

Requirements:

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering
  • Current registration as a Professional Engineer (Civil) in the State of Texas
  • Four to eight (4-8) years of experience in public works infrastructure design preferred
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office applications, required
  • Proficiency with Storm CAD and Arc Map preferred
  • Strong commitment to professional development
  • Ability to develop solid working relationships and manage multiple tasks in a schedule-sensitive environment
