TNP has an immediate opening for a Project Engineer to join an established design team in our Denton, TX office. Project Engineers are responsible for plan production and the design of a variety of public/private sector projects, including public works infrastructure, transportation, traffic, private land development, water resources (stormwater), subsurface utility engineering, and various types of site development projects. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in planning, design, and construction of paving, drainage, grading, water, sanitary sewer, and transportation facilities. It also provides opportunities to develop project management skills and participate in the company's mentoring program.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing research & completing technical design tasks, plan production, and project delivery
- Preparing construction documents for public and private infrastructure projects
- Performing construction administration
- Preparing reports, schedules, cost estimates, specifications, and contract documents
- Establishing good communication and collaborative relationships with team members & clients
- Managing work to accomplish project goals within budgets and schedules
- Coordinating with technical experts, other engineering teams, and sub-consultants
- Assisting Project Managers in project and client management
- Directing the work of Civil Engineers & CAD Designers
- Assisting in the technical training and development of young Civil Engineers
Requirements:
- B.S in Civil Engineering
- Current registration as a Professional Engineer (Civil) in Texas, or ability to obtain within one year
- 4-6 years of experience in public works infrastructure design preferred
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with traffic signal design and illumination analysis is a plus
