Description For Founding Platform Engineer

Toma is building an end-to-end AI workforce for the $1.5T automotive industry, focusing on automating customer service, repair order management, warranty processing, and sales. As the Founding Platform Engineer, you'll be the technical foundation of the company, owning the entire infrastructure and platform services. The role involves building scalable systems while maintaining reliability and security.

The company is uniquely positioned with team members who have built and sold multiple AI app companies, created a strong foothold through a best-in-class voice AI product, and possess deep industry understanding from hundreds of hours working at automotive dealerships.

The work environment is fast-paced and no-BS, where the best data-supported ideas win. You'll have full autonomy in decision-making and will be expected to handle the information firehose. The company operates from their office in San Francisco's Dogpatch neighborhood, 4 blocks from YC, with a 5-day in-office work week.

The interview process is straightforward: an initial meeting with the CTO, followed by a 1.5-hour virtual screener focusing on problem-solving and system design, then a 6-hour virtual/in-person on-site, concluding with an offer decision.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled platform engineer to make a significant impact in a growing company that's transforming the automotive industry through AI technology. The role offers competitive compensation, including equity, and comprehensive benefits including health insurance, gym membership, and meals.
