As a Principal DSP Engineer, you'll join the Space & Sensors team, playing a crucial role in developing RF-based sensing systems, primarily radar, from architecture through implementation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge FPGA DSP firmware development that directly impacts weather monitoring capabilities worldwide.

The role combines technical leadership with hands-on development, requiring expertise in complex systems involving multi-disciplinary technical teams. You'll be responsible for the entire firmware development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to final delivery, working with state-of-the-art technology including Xilinx Ultrascale FPGAs and high-speed Multi-Gbps transceivers.

Responsibilities For Principal DSP Engineer

  • Architect, design, develop, and test FPGA DSP firmware for next generation sensor product lines
  • Lead firmware development through all phases of the development cycle
  • Work across multiple technical programs
  • Contribute to engineering culture by implementing best practices
  • Perform design reviews and code reviews
  • Support firmware quality assurance measures
  • Define and coordinate interfaces between firmware and software
  • Engage with systems engineers, scientists, and program managers

Requirements For Principal DSP Engineer

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years relevant experience
  • Extensive experience with complex systems involving multi-disciplinary technical teams
  • Experience with large FPGAs and high-speed Multi-Gbps transceivers
  • Strong DSP background
  • Ability to work in an agile environment
  • Proficiency in Systemverilog/Verilog
  • Experience with Python, Linux, embedded systems
  • Experience with RADAR/Communications DSP modeling
  • Must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident or protected individual due to export control requirements
