Senior Backend Engineer

Tonal is seeking a passionate Senior Backend Engineer to play a crucial role in building the platform that powers the world's most intelligent personal trainer. You'll work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and design teams to solve challenging problems in developing software for a unique consumer fitness product.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing major software projects for backend services
• Collaborating with software, hardware, and content teams
• Working with the product team to clarify requirements and design new features
• Implementing, testing, deploying, and monitoring cloud-based backend microservices
• Writing and reviewing clean, secure, and testable code
• Developing and supporting cloud-based big data pipelines
• Using analytics to drive data-driven decisions
• Mentoring junior engineers

The ideal candidate has:

• 3+ years of software development experience
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms
• Expertise in server-side software development (Golang preferred)
• Strong understanding of database design and modeling
• Experience with data-intensive applications and big data pipelines
