Traba is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Data Engineer to build and own their foundational data infrastructure. This role offers a unique opportunity to design, architect, and scale the company's data platform from the ground up. Reporting directly to the CTO, you'll be a key member of the Data team, working closely with analytics and business stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering, strong expertise in SQL, Python, and modern data platforms. You'll be responsible for implementing ETL/ELT workflows, developing data models, and ensuring data governance best practices. The role combines technical expertise with business acumen, requiring someone who can balance rapid iteration with long-term scalability. Responsibilities For Data Engineer
- Architect and build the company's scalable data infrastructure
- Own and optimize ETL/ELT workflows using tools like dbt, Airflow, Spark, and/or Snowflake/Databricks
- Develop and maintain data models for analytics, reporting, and operational insights
- Collaborate with data analysts and software engineers to design pipelines
- Implement data governance best practices
- Support the adoption of a modern data stack
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies
- Work directly with stakeholders to understand business needs
Requirements For Data Engineer
- 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering
- Expertise in SQL and data modeling
- Experience with modern data platforms like Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift
- Strong background in ETL/ELT development using dbt, Airflow, or Spark
- Proficiency in Python or equivalent for data processing and automation
- Deep understanding of data pipeline performance tuning
- Experience owning and scaling data infrastructure independently
