Responsibilities For Electrical Power Systems Engineer

  • Design and analyze electrical power systems (EPS) for spacecraft, including solar arrays, batteries, and power distribution units
  • Perform modeling, simulation and on-orbit analysis for power generation and storage
  • Create and review technical documentation
  • Conduct system design trades balancing system performance, technical risk, cost and schedule
  • Perform radiation and reliability analyses
  • Develop failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) for critical electrical systems
  • Develop electrical ground support equipment (EGSE)
  • Design and fabricate spacecraft harnessing
  • Support environmental testing campaigns
  • Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineering teams

Requirements For Electrical Power Systems Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • Minimum of 2 years of electrical or space systems engineering
  • Understanding of spacecraft power system design
  • Understanding of spacecraft subsystems
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or eligible for required authorizations
