We're developing cutting-edge wargaming capabilities to evaluate system performance and develop tactical solutions in realistic space scenarios.

As our Game Development Engineer, you'll be instrumental in expanding our wargame capability by enabling networked local and remote multiplayer participation. This role combines the excitement of game development with the critical mission of space security, allowing you to leverage your multiplayer game development expertise in a meaningful way.

The role offers an opportunity to work with advanced space systems simulations while contributing to national security and space sustainability. You'll collaborate with a team of dedicated engineers, developing and integrating Python tools, managing player connectivity, and providing technical guidance for high-performance capabilities.

Responsibilities For Game Development Engineer

  • Contribute to development of space systems wargame capability by developing and testing multiplayer access over local and remote networks
  • Develop and integrate Python tools for managing players and player access into the wargame environment
  • Support local and remotely-hosted wargames by managing player connectivity during events
  • Provide guidance to software engineers building high-performance capabilities in C++ or other compiled languages
  • Work proactively and independently in a fast-paced work environment

Requirements For Game Development Engineer

Python
  • Bachelor of Science (MS preferred) in engineering, computer science, physics, math, or related technical discipline
  • 3-5 years experience (2+ with advanced degree) designing games including networked multiplayer participation
  • Experience with space-based games and physics simulations (highly desired)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience with code configuration management tools such as github
  • Experience with system behavior modeling including Finite State Machines or Behavior Trees
  • Experience with C++ and Python
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or eligible to obtain required authorizations from U.S. Department of State
