As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in designing mechanical assemblies for flight systems and next-generation cislunar vehicles. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of space exploration from the ground up, working with advanced satellites and spacecraft systems.

The role demands expertise in end-to-end mechanical system development, from concept and prototyping to qualification and flight hardware delivery. You'll be responsible for creating detailed 3D CAD models, performing structural analyses, and ensuring compliance with mission requirements.

Responsibilities For Senior Mechanical Engineer

  • Support the design, analysis, and optimization of mechanical systems and structures for advanced satellites
  • End-to-end development of mechanical structures, from concept to flight hardware delivery
  • Develop detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings for spacecraft components
  • Perform structural, thermal, and dynamic analyses to validate designs
  • Design and develop detail piece part and assembly drawings
  • Assemble and test development and flight systems
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements For Senior Mechanical Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
  • 4+ years of professional experience in mechanical design
  • Experience with spacecraft level mechanical architecture and design
  • Knowledge in mechanical GD&T
  • Experience with configuration control, MES and PLM tools
  • Proficiency in CAD tools, such as Solidworks
  • Proven ability to lead projects from concept to delivery
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible for ITAR compliance
