As a Staff Mechanical Engineer, you'll lead the design and development of next-generation cislunar vehicles, working on advanced satellite systems and mechanisms. The role offers an opportunity to shape the future of space exploration while ensuring space access and sustainability. You'll manage a team of engineers, lead end-to-end development processes, and work in a dynamic environment that values innovation and technical excellence. Responsibilities For Staff Mechanical Engineer

  • Lead the design, analysis, and optimization of mechanical systems and structures for advanced satellites
  • Lead end-to-end development of mechanisms, from concept to flight hardware delivery
  • Develop detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings for spacecraft components
  • Perform structural, thermal, and dynamic analyses
  • Design and develop detail piece part and assembly drawings
  • Assemble and test development and flight systems
  • Manage team of mechanical engineers and CAD drafting technicians
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements For Staff Mechanical Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
  • 7+ years of professional experience in mechanical design
  • Experience with spacecraft level mechanical architecture and design
  • Knowledge in mechanical GD&T
  • Experience with configuration control, MES and PLM tools
  • Proficiency in Solidworks CAD tools
  • Proven ability to lead projects from concept to delivery
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or eligible for required authorizations
