Uber's Mobility organization is seeking an Engineering Manager II to join their growing team in São Paulo, Brazil. This is an exciting opportunity within a massive organization of over 1000 engineers worldwide, with a particular focus on expanding their presence in Latin America. The role offers two distinct team opportunities: the Rider App Team, which focuses on Uber's flagship rider experience, and Uber for Business (U4B), which develops solutions for business customers.

The Rider Experience team is dedicated to making Uber's core ride-sharing products faster, safer, and more reliable, building scalable experiences that impact millions of users daily. Meanwhile, U4B is a collaborative team of engineers, designers, data scientists, and product managers working on products like Uber Central and Eats for Business, creating comprehensive solutions for business customers.

As an Engineering Manager II, you'll be responsible for leading and developing high-performing engineering teams, driving technical decisions, and delivering measurable impact through product features. The role requires a strong technical background with 7+ years of software engineering experience and 4+ years of engineering management experience. You'll work in a hybrid setting, collaborating with cross-functional teams to shape the future of mobility solutions.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in full-stack development, experience with microservice architectures, and a proven track record of leading engineering teams.   • Lead an engineering team to deliver product features to customers with measurable impact

Requirements For Engineering Manager II, Mobility

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field
  • 7+ years full-time Software Engineering work experience
  • 4+ years full-time Engineering Management experience
  • Deep understanding of full-stack software development
  • Experience leading both backend and front-end engineers
  • Experience in building large-scale customer-facing products
  • Prior experience working in microservice architectures and distributed storage systems
  • Proven experience in directly managing high-performing engineering teams
  • Ability to work with product managers and data scientists
  • Excellent English speaking skills
