Senior Staff Engineer - Data

The Data Intelligence team at Uber is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer - Data to join their Mobility group. This role is pivotal in shaping the roadmap for the data team, focusing on data engineering and data quality work. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving larger data initiatives, identifying opportunities to build solutions related to data quality, and solving challenging data problems with cutting-edge design and algorithms.

Key responsibilities include:

• Driving data excellence initiatives for Tier-1 & Tier-2 datasets in the Mobility org
• Identifying unified data models in collaboration with Data Science teams
• Coaching and mentoring senior engineers
• Building and managing Source of Truth (SOTs) for critical areas like Rider, Earner, and Uber for Business

The ideal candidate will have:

• 12+ years of industry experience with at least 5 years in the Data domain
• Expertise in Big data technologies like Spark, Hive, Flink, Kafka, SQL, and NoSQL databases
• In-depth experience with data modeling, query optimizations, and work in Java, Scala, Python
• Exceptional communication skills and problem-solving abilities
