Description For Staff Software Engineer - Frontend

Our team at Uber builds tools and services to manage the lifecycle of configurations for all of Uber's business areas (Mobility and Delivery) and domains (fares, dispatching, matching etc). We play a pivotal role in enabling Uber to launch new products faster and more reliably while ensuring compliance with regulations.

As a Staff Software Engineer - Frontend, you'll collaborate with stakeholders across Engineering, Operations, and Product Management teams to design & build the next generation of product configuration stack. You'll be responsible for building large-scale, highly available (four 9s), and low latency systems to help Uber's Ops and Tech teams launch new products faster and more reliably.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, implementing, and shipping reliable and well-tested features
  • Defining the future of the platform, both technically and product-wise
  • Interacting with users and understanding relevant data to scope the next big problem to solve
  • Coaching and developing team members

You'll be working with a full-stack team that owns various business-critical UI tools, databases, and real-time services. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on Uber's product launch capabilities and overall user experience across its global operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong frontend or full-stack development experience, excellent coding and software design abilities, and a keen eye for product design. Experience with React and TypeScript is highly valued, as is the ability to drive complex projects from idea to launch and beyond.

Join us in shaping the future of urban mobility and delivery services at one of the world's leading technology companies!
