Senior Backend Engineer

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll be working with Clojure, a functional programming language that powers their backend and supports their own DSL. While prior Clojure experience isn't mandatory, you'll need to be ready to learn and adapt to functional programming principles. The role requires strong programming fundamentals and PostgreSQL expertise.

The position offers an opportunity to work on critical infrastructure, lead technical discussions, and shape the engineering culture. You'll be responsible for designing scalable services, optimizing database performance, and mentoring junior developers. The ideal candidate should be technically strong, collaborative, and passionate about building great products.

Additional valuable skills include experience with Datomic or other functional databases, familiarity with JVM languages, open-source contributions, and knowledge of containerization and cloud deployment (Docker, Kubernetes).
