This role combines technical expertise in data platform engineering with a focus on making meaningful impact. The position involves working with cutting-edge technologies like Databricks, Snowflake, and Azure cloud platforms, requiring strong skills in infrastructure management, automation, and data governance.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing data infrastructure, implementing security measures, and ensuring smooth operation of data platforms. They will work closely with data scientists, engineers, and analysts to deliver tailored technical solutions while maintaining high standards of data quality and governance.

This is a hybrid position based in Seattle, requiring 1-2 days per week onsite. The role offers competitive compensation ranging from $145,000 to $190,000 annually. The company emphasizes its unique culture of genuine, curious consultants who strive to better the world through their work.

Responsibilities For Data Platform Engineer

  • Capacity planning, configuring, deploying, and maintaining Databricks clusters, workspaces, and Snowflake infrastructure on Azure cloud platforms
  • Automating resource provisioning and deployment using Terraform
  • Monitoring and optimizing Databricks cluster performance and Snowflake resource utilization
  • Implementing and managing access controls, RBAC, and security policies
  • Providing technical support to users of Databricks and Snowflake
  • Developing and maintaining backup and disaster recovery strategies
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Enforcing data governance, quality, and enterprise standards

Requirements For Data Platform Engineer

Python
  • 3+ years of experience in Data Platform Engineering
  • Proven track record in architecting and delivering cloud-native data solutions on Azure using Terraform Infrastructure as Code
  • Proficiency in Azure, Databricks and Snowflake
  • Strong skills in data warehousing and Lakehouse technologies
  • Experience with GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, data orchestration and dashboarding tools
