As a Data Engineer at unybrands, you will:
- Collaborate closely with other Data Engineers, Software Development Engineers (SDEs), Analytics Engineers (AEs), Data Scientists (DSs), and Infrastructure Engineers (IEs) in the technology team.
- Report directly to the Director of Data Engineering.
- Focus on building a modular, flexible data engineering infrastructure for continuous improvement.
- Serve customers across eCommerce, marketing, supply chain, finance, business development, and legal departments.
- Build data products to support every aspect of the business, understanding that data is a strategic resource.
- Develop unybrands' data model(s) and data infrastructure in collaboration with the Director of Analytics and Head of Infrastructure Engineering.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, implementing, and optimizing ETL pipelines for efficient data movement and transformation.
- Ensuring data governance best practices, including encryption, access controls, and audit trails.
- Implementing data quality checks, monitoring data pipelines, and ensuring system reliability and efficiency.
This role requires expertise in:
- Data architecture and modeling, including experience with dimensional data modeling, OLAP systems, and data warehousing concepts.
- Cloud platforms, particularly GCP, with strong experience in Big Query and Looker Studio.
- Database management, including both SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Programming languages, especially Python, for data processing.
- DevOps and automation, including experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Data privacy regulations like GDPR or CCPA.
The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment, and excellent communication skills. Experience with e-commerce/retail/supply chain data modeling and the Amazon seller ecosystem is a significant advantage.
