Vanta is seeking a Senior Applied Machine Learning Engineer to join their mission of securing the internet and protecting consumer data. This role is crucial in shaping Vanta's AI offerings and improving AI systems performance. As part of the core AI team, you'll work on revolutionizing security and compliance programs by streamlining Q&A processes and providing actionable insights.
The position offers a competitive salary range of $179K-$249K with comprehensive benefits including full medical coverage, 401(k) matching, and flexible work arrangements. You'll be working alongside product engineers, MLEs, PMs, and security experts to implement and maintain ML pipelines.
The ideal candidate should have strong coding abilities, extensive experience with ML systems and LLM-based applications, and excellent communication skills. You'll be responsible for designing AI/ML solutions, improving system performance through training and fine-tuning, and implementing scalable ML infrastructure.

Responsibilities For Senior Applied Machine Learning Engineer
- Conceptualizing, designing, and evaluating AI/ML solutions
- Collect, analyze, and synthesize findings from data
- Improve performance of AI systems through training, fine-turning, and RLHF
- Partner with product teams to define product strategies
- Architect and implement scalable ML infrastructure
- Research and apply state-of-the-art techniques in machine learning
Requirements For Senior Applied Machine Learning Engineer
- Strong coding skills
- Experience building ML systems from ground up
- Experience shipping ML solutions to production
- Expertise in building, deploying and maintaining LLM-based applications
