Vanta is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Backend (MongoDB) to join their team. The role involves leading and mentoring engineers, delivering high-value products, and scaling infrastructure. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for:
- Setting technical direction for critical infrastructure, focusing on MongoDB
- Solving scalability problems related to build systems, developer workflows, and key services
- Leading complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Supporting design reviews and helping engineers make the right trade-offs
Key qualifications:
- At least 5 years of industry experience
- Experience with complex infrastructure challenges related to MongoDB
- Technical leadership experience
- Startup experience or bias for action
- Experience with greenfield projects

Responsibilities For Senior Software Engineer, Backend (MongoDB)
- Set direction for critical infrastructure with a focus on MongoDB, enabling us to stay ahead of continued rapid growth
- Solve upcoming scalability problems related to our build system, developer workflows / experience, and key infrastructure and services
- Lead complex projects with multiple stakeholders and engineers to enable our business and team to scale
- Support design reviews, communicate constraints, and help engineers make the right trade-offs
- Contribute to building Vanta's engineering culture as we grow
Requirements For Senior Software Engineer, Backend (MongoDB)
- At least 5 years of industry experience
- Experience with complex infrastructure challenges related to scale, reliability, and performance with MongoDB
- Technical leadership experience for teams or complex projects
- Previous startup experience or worked in an environment that prioritizes a bias for action
- Experience working on greenfield projects
- Interest in learning about security or prior experience in the space
