Description For Security Engineer (Pre-Sales)

Vectra, a leading innovator in AI-driven threat detection and response, is seeking a Security Engineer to join their pre-sales team. With 35 patents in AI-driven threat detection and strong industry recognition through MITRE D3FEND, Vectra offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of cybersecurity technology.

The role combines technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, requiring you to partner closely with sales teams and guide customers through technical demonstrations of Vectra's solutions. You'll be instrumental in driving pre-sales activities from initial engagement through to deal closure, while maintaining deep technical knowledge of security landscapes and Vectra's product portfolio.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong security background who enjoys both technical challenges and customer interaction. You'll work with cutting-edge AI security technology while collaborating with various teams including Product Management and R&D to influence product development.

The ideal candidate will bring a startup mindset, customer-first approach, and deep understanding of security concepts including cloud security, detection and response, and incident response methodologies. Responsibilities For Security Engineer (Pre-Sales)

  • Partner with sales team for pre-sales technical account management
  • Maintain knowledge of Vectra's competitors
  • Collaborate with Product Management and R&D for feature development
  • Develop and maintain in-depth technical knowledge of Vectra products
  • Build technical relationships with customers and channel partners
  • Participate in POC, RFP/RFI, deployment reviews
  • Lead customer demos and technical guidance
  • Travel as needed within region

Requirements For Security Engineer (Pre-Sales)

  • Deep understanding of security-focused product lines (CASB, EDR, SIEM or forensics-type platforms)
  • Proven understanding in networking and L2 to L7 OSI layers
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Solid understanding of attacker progression (Red Team or Pentest)
  • Good understanding of SOC workflows and Incident Response methodologies
  • Understanding of cloud security, CSPM, CNAPP, CASB, purple teaming
  • Business proficiency in English
  • Extensive experience in technical or pre-sales
  • Large account management experience
