Veracross is seeking a junior to mid-level Software Engineer to join their School Community product team. As a growing SaaS company serving 3200+ schools across 60 countries, Veracross provides comprehensive School Information Systems for K-12 institutions worldwide. The role focuses on building and improving academics and admission offerings, including learning management, course scheduling, and student matriculation systems.

The position offers significant opportunities for technical growth, particularly as the team embarks on a major refresh of their learning management system and online enrollment portals. Working with Ruby on Rails applications and modern JavaScript frameworks, you'll contribute to the educational functions that are critical to Veracross's business.

Responsibilities For Software Engineer - School Community Team

  • Contribute to the School Community team at the individual and team level
  • Improve and maintain Ruby on Rails applications
  • Build new features within flagship product, Axiom
  • Participate in development of new features and platform improvements
  • Enhance and improve Academics offerings
  • Work to advance Admission components and workflows
  • Integrate Veracross with third-party systems used by private K-12 schools

Requirements For Software Engineer - School Community Team

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent technical organization and planning skills
  • Ability to perform technical responsibilities remotely in a mostly asynchronous environment
  • 0-2+ years of professional programming experience
  • Experience with Ruby language, Rails framework, or similar technologies
  • Experience with modern JavaScript development
  • Experience in web programming
  • Experience with relational databases
  • Experience with source control, especially git
  • Service- and team-oriented mindset
